Some acronyms or initials are so common that as soon as we mention them, one thing alone comes to mind. This may exactly be the reason why you even clicked on this article in the first place. It is challenging what you know already. For long, we have known that the acronym or initials NDC is a political one which expands to mean the National Democratic Congress, one of Ghana’s currently largest and successful political parties. This NDC is opposed to NPP, their known biggest rival. But the acronym NDC has a new meaning in Ghana’s politics now, especially with the build up to the 2020 December elections. And this NDC ironically has nothing to do with the party, NDC, but it has everything to do with NPP. Thus, we have an NDC in NPP. But what does it mean?
This new NDC we are talking about was coined or synthesised from the original NDC, which is the political party. It is meant to serve as an irony and an expensive joke or mockery of the real NDC. NDC is opposed to NPP as a political party and as such, is opposed to Nana Addo, the flag bearer of the NPP. But NDC, in this case means that Nana Deserves Continuation (NDC). This is the new NDC. The Nana Addo of NPP deserves continuation.
Nana deserves continuation. This is one of the newest terminologies in the NPP party. What do you think of this new meaning of NDC? It is more similar to an appraisal or endorsement of 4 more 4 Nana. Does Nana really deserve continuation. As an NPP fan, what do you think of this new acronym? As an NDC fan, how do you feel seeing the NPP using your own name against you?
